Dataset: Sydney Conurbation Orthophotography Mosaics and Tiles 2011


Description

The Sydney Orthophotography 2011 is a series of digital imagery produced from aerial photography acquired over Sydney. The digital imagery was captured on the 15, 17 and 18 May, 20 and 25 June, 12 and 30 July and 17 September 2011. The tiles are 1 km X 1 km, with a 10 cm ground sample distance (GSD). Temporal information and geographic extents are stored in the individual metadata of each tile. Seam line information is stored in separate shape file which may be obtained upon request. Tiles are available in both ecw and tiff format. The expected reported accuracy for each tile is 0.2 m. Three mosaics were supplied by AAM for this project which covers Eastern Sydney, Western Sydney and Illawarra region. Mosaics are available in ecw format with targeted compression ratio 5:1. The mosaics are in Lamberts. The region included Ashfield, Auburn, Bankstown, The Hills Shire, Blacktown, Blue Mountains, Botany Bay, Burwood, Camden, Campbelltown, Canada Bay, Canterbury, Fairfield, Gosford, Hawkesbury, Holroyd, Hornsby, Hunters Hill, Hurstville, Kiama, Kogarah, Ku-ring-gai, Lane Cove, Leichhardt, Lithgow, Liverpool, Manly, Marrickville, Mosman, North Sydney, Oberon, Parramatta, Penrith, Pittwater, Randwick, Rockdale, Ryde, Shellharbour, Strathfield, Sutherland Shire, Sydney, Warringah, Waverley, Willoughby, Wingecarribee, Wollondilly, Wollongong .The tiles are named as "e263n6226.ecw" or "e263n6226.tiff" and corresponding metadata are named as "e263n6226_ecw.xml" and “e263n6226.tiff.xml”. Data usage policies are stated in legal restriction section of metadata of both tiles and mosaics. This data is provided by AAM Pty Limited (AAM) to NSW GOVERNMENT under the client’s Terms of Engagement, which allow NSW GOVERNMENT to assume shared ownership with AAM, in accordance with the documented provisions, and subject to the following conditions: 1.This metadata record is always stored with the unaltered data. 2. The data is not altered in any way without the approval of AAM. The data may be copied from this file to another. 3. The data is not used for purposes beyond that explicitly agreed in the description of the Services provided by AAM. Any breach of these conditions will result in the immediate termination of the license issued by AAM, and NSW GOVERNMENT will indemnify AAM from all resulting liabilities.
